The truth is more useful than the hype. These minerals work in many of the same body systems, but more pills do not automatically mean better balance.
Calcium helps provide structure to bones and teeth, supports blood clotting, and helps muscles contract. Magnesium supports nerve signaling, energy production, blood sugar regulation, and muscle relaxation. Your body needs both. People with kidney disease, a history of kidney stones, high calcium levels, parathyroid conditions, significant digestive disorders, or regular prescription medications should get individualized guidance before supplementing. Those are not minor footnotes. The kidneys regulate these minerals, and impaired kidney function can turn an ordinary dose into a real risk.
The real rebellion is refusing simplistic health promises, whether they come from a drug commercial or a supplement ad. Build meals that supply the minerals your body uses every day, use supplements with a clear purpose, and get qualified help when symptoms or medical history make the picture more complicated.
